Simple Cayman Beach Wedding for Seattle Cruisers

This Seattle-based couple had planned their cruise before they decided to tie the knot. They had decided they wanted a very simple wedding while their cruise ship was in port. This fits the bill perfectly for Simply Weddings, as we arrange weddings for cruisers every week of the year. As an independent operator we are dependent on couples finding us through the web, and from comments made by satisfied customers. Your review of Simply Weddings is important to us, so please take a few minutes to tell other cruisers how we did. Thank you to all my couples who spread the word about Simply Weddings on the different cruise-ship forums.

The Bride and Groom sign the certified copy of their Marriage Register while Joy looks on.

Peggy Moorhead, our Wedding Co-ordinator often acts as one of the witnesses which our Marriage Law requires. If you are traveling just as a couple, let us know so we can provide the two witnesses.

My Secret Cove is the most requested wedding location for cruise couples. Here Joy presents the couple with their decorated copy of the Marriage Register.

The newly-weds show off their marriage certificate and their happy smiles. In a few minutes I will take them back to the harbour, where they can explore George Town for a few hours before rejoining their cruise ship.

Simply Weddings is the cruise wedding specialist in the Cayman Islands. We also perform weddings for the many stay-over tourists who visit the Cayman Islands and we can suggest many locations to help you experience your dream of a destination wedding on a tropical island. Why you should get married on a Cayman Beach, favourite Cayman Wedding spots.

It has recently come to my attention that a certain cruise line, who shall be nameless, is telling cruisers not to get married on a Caribbean island, because the wedding will not be legal. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Cayman Islands is one of the few jurisdictions in the western Caribbean where you can be married while your ship is in port. The procedure for getting married in Cayman is very simple, and I will be happy to go over it with you.

This is the Wild Banana Orchid, the National Flower of the Cayman Islands.

You will never see me mention this cruiseline on my blog again. However, I am reliably informed that the cost of their cruise wedding is in excess of $2000, with extra charges for each additional guest. A basic Simple Cayman Wedding on one of our beautiful beaches, as seen below, costs less than $700 for all the legal requirements, marriage officer and ceremony. You can also select a la carte items, eg flowers, photos, champagne if you don't want a Cayman Wedding Package.

Visitors to Cayman are issued with a Registered Marriage Certificate within a few days of the ceremony. For cruisers, my company Simply Weddings, will post this to the address on your Special Marriage License. When you recieve this RMC, take it to your County Clerk's office, and have them register it for you. Not all states or countries require this, but be on the safe side.

Seven Mile Beach is consistently voted one of the world's top spots for weddings and honeymoons.

The beaches of East End and North Side have their own quiet beauty

Whether you are a cruise or a stayover visitor, just a couple (and needing witnesses) or travelling with a group, the Cayman Islands can fulfill your requirements for a simple, or a luxury wedding. Our vendors and our government officials provide an efficient, professional service for the hundreds of visitors who choose the Cayman Islands for their wedding each year. Don't be put off by self-serving organisations with a view to your wallet, and not your satisfaction with their service.

Simply Weddings is one of the experienced, customer-oriented Caymanian businesses whose aim is to surpass your wedding expectations and bring you back to the Cayman Islands as a visitor again and again. No wedding is too simple for us. We book only one cruise wedding per day so that we can give you our full attention.

Our modern office is located minutes from the cruise passenger landing, and we can look out and see when your ship anchors. We will be ready to pick you up and bring you to our spacious and comfortable George Town office where you can dress in our Bridal Room, or just relax until it is time to go to your wedding location. Most cruise weddings take place by 10 am giving you an opportunity to enjoy picturesque George Town before you have to rejoin your ship.

Cayman Vow Renewal or Cayman Wedding Blessing?

Today I want to talk about the difference between a Cayman Wedding Vow Renewal and a Cayman Wedding Blessing. The pictures below are from real couples whose Wedding Blessing or Wedding Vow Renewal we arranged and conducted in 2009.

This couple was married days before coming on a cruise to the Cayman Islands, where we arranged their Cayman Wedding Blessing at My Secret Cove. Here they are, the first couple to get dressed in our new Bridal Room at our new office in George Town, Grand Cayman.

I do a Cayman Wedding Blessing if the couple have been married less than 2 years. It is a special service which is much like a wedding service, but I reference the couple's legal marriage, ie I might say "John and Mary were married at X Place on Y Date, and today we celebrate this union with them as they reaffirm their relationship in this Wedding Blessing Ceremony."

There are many reasons a couple might want a wedding blessing, the most common one is if they had a civil wedding in the court-house or Registry office and they want to repeat their vows in a beautiful location where they can get fantastic and memorable pictures.

This was a very special Cayman Wedding Blessing as Cayman is the home of this bride's ancestors and she wanted to honour that by having a special ceremony on her first visit to her fore-fathers homeland.

This was a beautiful Wedding Vow renewal. This couple have 3 children, and they were on a special holiday travelling alone, staying at one of the condos on Seven Mile Beach where they took the opportunity to create a very special memory.

I was glad that they got the photography add-on package because they got a spectacular sunset

This couple were in Cayman with their children and their extended family, celebrating their 10th Wedding Anniversary. As I said before, I love to do any type of ceremony which involves children, so I will always do something special for the children if I know in advance. These all got sand dollars they could write on.

The Governor's Beach which is mid-Seven Mile Beach is a great spot for kids, and parents. it is always clean, and not usually crowded during the week.

You don't have to wait for one of the big anniversaries to do a vow renewal. I have done Wedding Vow renewals for many different anniversaries, and in many different locations. I think the one I enjoyed most was for a couple's 50th Anniversary on 1 January 2009. For this I used the ceremony my own parents Vernon and Francine Jackson (Cayman Weddings) used for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Your relationship is different and unique, that's why Simply Weddings will personalise your Cayman Wedding, Cayman Wedding Blessing or Cayman Vow Renewal and give you a script of the ceremony for a souvenir. You can choose to have a prayer, or not as you prefer. I use a lot of non-denominational blessing eg the Apache wedding Blessing, the Irish Wedding Blessing. I have used Hindu blessings, Buddist blessings and Shinto blessings as well. You can also bring your own vows, blessing or readings and I will incorporate them into the ceremony.

Simply Wedding's "Cayman Wedding Blessing" and "Cayman Wedding Vow Renewal" start at US$400 and includes a bottle of Simply Weddings Bubbly in a souvenir bottle and a decorative certificate which you can frame as a reminder of the occasion. There is a place on the certificate for witnesses, and some couples like to have their children sign here if they are old enough. (The age 18 rule for witnesses does not apply to Wedding Blessing or Wedding Vow renewal certificates)

Ask about flowers from Trisha's Roses, some couples like to duplicate their original wedding bouquet (smaller version, but using the same types of flowers). Two photo packages available, one with, and one without prints in an album.

Call Joy or Peggy today at (345) 949-9933 and make your cruise or Cayman Islands vacation even more special with a Cayman Wedding Blessing or Cayman Wedding Vow Renewal. Email mywedding@candw.ky

Of course the biggest part of my practice is conducting and arranging weddings for visitors (cruise and stay-over guests) and residents:

The couple below arrived on a cruise ship, last week and were married at My Secret Cove.

Whether you are getting married, having a vow renewal or a wedding blessing, you can arrange to be picked up at the cruise landing.

This couple joined my Facebook fan page (Simply Weddings - Grand Cayman Wedding Celebrants and Planners) so they could find out all about weddings in Cayman before they ever arrived for their wedding-moon (Wedding+Honeymoon)

DIY Brides Can Enjoy a Cayman Destination Wedding Too!

This Cape Coral Fl. bride and her fiance decided at the last minute to turn their Carnival cruise into a wedding- moon and Grand Cayman was the spot they picked for their morning beach wedding today. Despite the brillant day, some glitch prevented them from reaching the appointed spot at the appointed time. I sat at my desk and saw all the tender boats waiting to take the visitors off, and I thought that my couple might be getting upset and worried. Hardly, as this couple seemed to go with the flow, and although the wedding had to be pushed back by an hour and a half, everything flowed smoothly from there on. (This is the kind of day which makes me happy I only perform one cruise wedding per day, so we can all enjoy the occassion)

What's a Caribbean wedding without palm trees? Here the bride stops for a quick pose in the Simply Weddings garden once she has dressed in our Bridal Room.

The bride had the bridal bridal bouquet and boutonniere made and brought them with her. She also bought and decorated her own champagne flutes. Even her garter was decorated with a seashell.

This couple had chosen MSC over Seven Mile Beach, and they were not disappointed. They kept saying they recognised things from my blog.

They met their witnesses, from Washington DC on the cruiseship and brought them along to complete their special day, with special new found friends.
A quiet pose on the rock-bench shows off the bride's very appropriate gown.

Here they are looking at their cork. I'm sure the bride, who took their Simply Weddings Bubbly (empty) bottle back to the ship will find some creative way to use another souvenir of their wedding-moon. Since Cayman was the last stop on their cruise, they joked they had had the honeymoon first.

This is the ledge I get my couples to stand on, because I like this particular shot of the little cove with the waves coming in. This is really a very intimate, private setting for a wedding, and you will understand when you see it why I don't allow more than 5 -6 guests. It is really one of my favourite spots in the Cayman Islands, and one of the prettiest. So if this setting is your idea of perfection for you Cayman Beach Wedding too, ask for "My Secret Cove."

Cayman Castle Wedding for Charlottesville, Va. Couple

I had been talking to this marketing consultant from Virginia and his physician bride for some months, and was excited to learn they wanted to be married at the Cayman Castle in Gun Bay, on the eastern side of the island. Since I had often heard how pretty this location was, I wanted to see it for myself.

The wedding took place on this patio which is built right into the cliff. The castle sits on a little bluff, and has an infinity pool which is quite beautiful. The property also has an adjacent guest cottage. Altogether it is an outstanding location for a wedding.

This was an intimate setting for a small group of family.

The second reading was done by the mothers of the bride and groom, in French and English

Although the past two days have been quite wet, this was a perfect afternoon, and quite cool

With Joy after the ceremony

As seen from the castle, this little bay with its private beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and would also be good for a large wedding.

Facebook Fans Wed at MSC, Grand Cayman Today

"May the roots of your marriage be as deep and as strong as the roots of this Shaving Brush tree, which is more than 100 years old" Joy of Weddings 10/21/09

When this Dallas, Texas couple contacted Simply Weddings, Grand Cayman Wedding Celebrants and Planners they had done their research. They were already familiar with our website, this blog and our Facebook page. They knew they wanted their morning wedding at My Secret Cove, and both wedding photos and our tropical bouquet was important to them.

This morning Peggy and I were understandably worried since we have been having a tropical disturbance with some very heavy downpours. Fortunately, Peggy got the paperwork done really early, and the ceremony began shortly before 10 a.m. We barely got the certificate signed and witnessed, and the couple back to the harbour when the heavens opened. ( Naturally we had a Plan B, in case of rain). The upside of this overcast morning? Great light for Mari's photos, and a deserted beach for our bridal couple.

A cruise, a birthday and a wedding, all in one week ... lucky Groom!

I liked this pretty green spot at MSC, so I asked Mari to include it in the pictures

Tricia's Roses did an outstanding job on this bouquet, with anthuriums, birds of paradise, ranculus, and dendrobium orchids ( and other blooms I don't know the names of)

The traditional proof shot!

And the traditional "We did it!" shot

Smith's Cove, Grand Cayman Saturday Wedding for Local Couple

This last Saturday was a very hot one, and Smith's Cove was packed with residents trying to cool off in the water. They had ringside seat for this young couple's wedding.

Starring in their own Cayman Wedding, Cayman Style

Weddings held at the couple's home is a fine Caymanian tradition, though not as popular as it used to be. This wedding was held at this couple's beautiful home in Savannah, before family and friends. It was followed by a reception and dancing on their spacious patio.
