St Patrick's Day for this Cayman island wedding

St Patrick's Day dawned bright and beautiful in the Cayman Islands, and although this simple beach wedding took place later than is usual for our cruise weddings it was still quite cool and comfortable and we enjoyed the shade of the casuarina trees along Seven Mile Beach.

This couple sailed in on a cruise ship from Galveston, Texas with family members. The bride's sister and her husband flew in to join them in Cayman for their wedding day.

It was busier than usual at the Governor's Beach, but we managed to find a quiet spot.

The bride was elegant in a simple sky blue cotton gown just right for a Cayman beach wedding.

It's not over 'til the paper work is done.

This bride and groom brought a Texas wedding license which they had procured prior to coming to Cayman. On the reverse there is an affidavit for me to sign and seal as Civil Registrar of Marriages. This will make it very easy to register their Cayman marriage in the state of Texas.
Texas is the only US state that I know of which provides this facility.

Of course, they still had to get a Special Marriage License from the Governor of the Cayman Islands in order to have a Cayman island wedding.

The whole group

and the obligatory "We did it!!" shot

After the wedding the whole group headed for George Town to find some green beer. My son and I headed to the Triple Crown pub for our St Patrick's Day lunch of smoked herring, corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew and Guiness on tap.

6 Reasons to have an All-inclusive Cayman Islands Cruise Wedding

Every year thousands of couples chose to be married while on a cruise. This is becoming increasingly popular in the current economic climate, because of the very obvious cost-savings of combining a wedding and a honeymoon. Grand Cayman, with its world-famous Seven Mile Beach is one of the hottest spots for a cruise wedding on the beach.

The Cayman Islands is one of the few cruise calls in the Western Caribbean where couples can be married while their ship is in port. In addition, the world class wedding planners can make your dream of a tropical beach wedding a reality for a very affordable price.

Simply Weddings - Grand Cayman Wedding Celebrants and Planners specialise in cruise weddings in the Cayman Islands. From our office overlooking the water less than a mile from the cruise landing, we are ideally placed to make your Cayman Islands wedding an unforgettable experience.

Our most popular Cayman Wedding package is the All-Inclusive Cayman Cruise Wedding package. Here's why:

  1. We pick you up in the Simply Weddings van and take you to our George Town office. (We also take you to the wedding location, and back to the port after the ceremony)

If you have a large group, we arrange for them to be transported to the wedding location. We can also arrange for limousine or town car service from one of our vendors. Van service is included, all other transportation incurs an extra charge.

2. You and your attendants or witnesses (up to 6 people) can dress in our Bridal Room

There is no need to get dressed on the ship, you can do your hair and make-up in our comfortable Bridal Room for no extra charge.

3. We choose quiet, intimate locations such as My Secret Cove, Bus Stop 29, Blue Water Beach or Mary Mollie Hydes Beach

4. Every bride should feel special on her wedding day, and a bouquet of fresh tropical flowers adds to that special feeling like nothing else can.

5. Chilled champagne on the beach served with crisp white linens and crystal flutes lend a touch of elegance to your special day.

We walk you through the Caymanian wedding traditions of popping the cork, toasting each other, and then in the very British tradition we present you with the cork and a Caymanian coin, to mark your first drink together as husband and wife.

6. One hour professional photography, both candid shots during the ceremony and posed shots afterwards . 60 plus images on a CD and an album with 36 prints mailed to you within a week of your ceremony. (In a hurry? Use Picasa and download them as soon as they are available)

A Stunning Sunset for this Arizona Couple

The groom at this wedding used to vacation in Grand Cayman with his grandparents when he was a child.

He had such fond memories that he and his bride-to-be decided to fly to the island with his mother and two sons for an intimate wedding ceremony.

The ceremony took place at the West Bay end of Seven Mile Beach (we call it "Bus Stop 29"). They got such a spectacular sunset and pictures. My descriptions hardly do them justice!

The ceremony was officiated by Francine Jackson. Francine is Joy's mother, and has officiated nearly three THOUSAND weddings!!

Shoes not required!

The bride and groom pose for a portrait after the ceremony.

Here they are on the dock.

On the dock again. Love this picture!

Francine presents them with their Marriage Certificate. They are now Mr. & Mrs.!

Taking a little stroll as husband and wife.

Bus Stop 29 really has it all for a beach ceremony location: sandy beach, ironshore rock, a dock, restrooms and cabanas.

We are more than happy to incorporate a couple's children in their ceremony. If they are aged 18 or older, they can sign as witnesses. They can otherwise say a reading or speech, or the marriage officer can simply mention them somewhere in the ceremony.

Color Coordination at this All-Inclusive Cruise Wedding

This couple from Farmington, Minnesota arrived via cruise last week with 20 family and friends for their All-Inclusive Cruise wedding at Governor's Beach (part of Seven Mile Beach).

Here's the bride as she waits in the Simply Weddings vehicle for her father to escort her to her groom.

The bride is escorted by her father down an aisle of powdery white sand and Casuarina Pine trees.

We can provide transportation for up to 6 persons in the Simply Weddings vehicle, and the cost of which is included in the All-Inclusive Cruise wedding package.

However if you will be having a larger group, we are happy to arrange for a private bus to transport them (an example of the bus is seen in the background of this picture). The cost of the private bus is on a per person basis and depends on where your ceremony will be taking place.

The guests at this wedding all wore black and white! A lovely accent to the bride's dress.

Joy officiating the ceremony.

Signing the legal documents after the ceremony.

The flowers in the Tropical Bridal Bouquet that is included in the All-Inclusive Cruise wedding package can vary slightly, depending on what is freshest at the time. However they always follow the same tropical color scheme as seen in this picture.

A great shot of the whole group.

At Governor's Beach you can get a variety of pictures, either down by the sea or up against these lovely Casuarina Pine trees.

Dramatic Waves for All-Inclusive Cruise Wedding

This couple from Delhi, Iowa arrived via cruise last week for their All-Inclusive Cruise wedding package with Simply Weddings.

It was just the two of them. Here they are as Joy officiates their ceremony at My Secret Cove.

The sea has been rough during the past week, so the wave seen breaking over the ironshore in the background is not a usual occurrence for this location. However, we think it makes for great dramatic pictures!

Listening as Joy gives them The Charge at the end of the ceremony. Check out that little waterfall! Again, these only show up when the sea is rough, but we love them!

A close-up of the lovely Tropical Bridal Bouquet included in the All-Inclusive Cruise wedding package. It is resting on the signing table which we decorate with a white linen and seashells for every ceremony.

The groom pops the champagne for him and his bride to have a toast after their ceremony and document signing are complete.

One bottle of chilled champagne is included in the All-Inclusive Cruise wedding package, and glasses for up to 6 persons are provided.

Posing on the ironshore for some beautiful shots.

Another great shot on the ironshore.

A final shot, playing in the sand at the adjoining Smith's Cove!
