Sunrise Christmas Eve Wedding in Grand Cayman

A most unusual ring-bearing arrangement

This Filipino couple living and working in Grand Cayman planned their wedding for Christmas Eve, when they could take advantage of the 4 day weekend for their honeymoon. The wedding took place on Seven Mile Beach very early on 24th December, one of the busiest days of the year. Because it was so early, the beach was virtually deserted.

They had a Unity Sand Ceremony as part of the wedding ceremony

Here is a picture of their completed Memory Vase

My Cayman Islands Wedding ...My Way

This couple from British Columbia, Canada made their wedding arrangements through their travel agent. This is a bit unusual, since these days most people contact us directly through the internet. Nevertheless they were pleased with the arrangements for their All -inclusive Cayman Cruise Wedding. The couple added video and wedding cake to this package.

Seven Mile Beach is really very pretty, very clean, and virtually deserted this time of morning

This is a 6" cake, which is fine for a party of four, service is provided

It has been quite hot and bright for December, Christmas breezes only started this week

Together for 15 years, this couple chose a beautiful spot to tie the knot.

I always like this shot with the cruise ships lying off the beach

EXCITING NEWS AT SIMPLY WEDDINGS - GRAND CAYMAN WEDDING CELEBRANTS AND PLANNERS

As some of you will know, I was off-island last week, but exciting things were happening at Simply Weddings. Our wedding coordinator Peggy got engaged to Brett.

Admiring the ring, after our beach wedding today

Of course I had to hear all the romantic details (Brett is our second son). I must say he did us proud, including getting down on one knee to propose. Peggy said the whole thing, including the ring, was perfect!

Now we have all the excitement of planning another wedding in the family. I couldn't be happier for the pair of them, and our entire family is delighted with the news.

Cayman Wedding Blessing Celebration for Washington State Group

If you look carefully you can see the cruise ship this couple and their families came in on in the background.
We have been doing more group cruise weddings at the Governor's Beach in the last couple of weeks, since it takes less time than taking the wedding party down to Mary Mollie Hydes or Blue Water Beach. It all depends on what the couple want, some groups just want to spend time on the beach after the ceremony, while others want to explore the town.

This couple from Chehalis, Washington wanted more time on the beach, and they headed off to try some watersports at nearby Westin Casaurina hotel.

After a civil wedding in the courthouse at home, this couple had a Cayman Wedding Blessing, witnessed by their immediate families while on a cruise in the western Caribbean.

Part of this Cayman Wedding Blessing package is a certificate with all the relevant details, duly witnessed and signed. This certificate is suitable for framing, and many couples keep it as a reminder of this very special event.

This is very similar to the All Inclusive Cayman Cruise Wedding package, but of course no Special Marriage License or Registered Marriage Certificate is required.

Cayman Sunset Wedding Vow Renewal on Second Honeymoon

When this Kansas husband contacted us about a wedding vow renewal while on a second honeymoon vacation with his wife of 11 years, we only had a few days to put it together.

His biggest stipulation was that it be a complete surprise for his wife, so we were not in contact with him after their arrival on the island.

So they did a lot of vacation-type things like horse-back riding on the beach, exploring, relaxing and then on the third day of their vacation, just before sunset they walked down the beach from their hotel to their wedding vow renewal ceremony at Governors Beach.

Cayman Special Marriage License Fee Increase - $50

I am quite unhappy that the Cayman Islands government has increased the Special Marriage License fee for visitors from US$200 to US$250, as far as I can ascertain this will be effective almost immediately.

This means that your Cayman Wedding package from Simply Weddings - Grand Cayman Wedding Celebrants and Planners will cost US$50 more in 2010

We will do everything we can to minimise the effect of these new taxes for our guests.

We pledge to continue giving you the value for money that our guests tell us they appreciate.

We want your Cayman Islands wedding to be a memorable experience. We know that our customer service is second to none, because we treat our guests as though they were our family.

Don't forget that we will add those special touches if requested, which will make your wedding day in the Cayman Islands an unforgetable experience.

Ask about our ceremonies, weddings, vow renewals and wedding blessings in many beautiful and natural locations throughout the Cayman Islands such as My Secret Cove, seen above.

Spectacular Formal Cayman Wedding for this Filipino Bride

Attention to detail was the hallmark of this Cayman Islands wedding held last month at Pedro St James. It happened that this was the rainy weekend just before the Veterans Day holiday, so at the eleventh hour the ceremony was moved indoors to the theatre, instead of being held on the Great Lawn. However no rain could dampen the spirits of this Filipino bride and her Caymanian groom on their special day.

The bridal gown was designed and made in the Phillipines

So many beautiful young ladies in one place...

With Joy, while the ceremony was taking place. The Pedro St James theatre can hold about 50 people comfortably, just big enough for an intimate wedding with close friends and family.

Garden Wedding for Guyanese Couple in Cayman

This Guyanese couple living and working in Cayman were married according to Hindu rites some time ago, but wanted to get their legal, registered marriage performed in Grand Cayman. They arranged to get married yesterday afternoon at my house in George Town.

Some of my potential local clients may not realise that they can also be married at the Simply Weddings office, at 306 North Church St., in George Town which is near to Kirk Supermarket.

With one of their two witnesses required by law, I can usually arrange for another witness as I did in this case.

Grand Cayman Sunset Wedding was a Family Affair

A few years ago when I decided to open my own wedding company in the Cayman Islands, my goal was to create a business which would offer simple, personalised weddings which would touch the hearts of the Bride and Groom and create a lasting memory for their guests, and themselves.

I officiate a lot of weddings, over 150 so far in 2009, but every wedding is special to me whether it costs thousands of dollars, or a couple of hundred. I particularly enjoy celebrating weddings which include children, because as a wife, mother and grandmother I think it is important for children to experience the beauty of a wedding ceremony, and understand the importance of the commitment two people are making to each other and their families.

This couple were here staying in a condo on Seven Mile Beach, but chose Smith's Cove at sunset as the spot for their "Tropical Slendour" wedding package.

The wedding ceremony I use was written by my father, Vernon Jackson and is very special to me. I will usually give me overseas guests a copy of their wedding script so they will have a record of the vows they said to each other.

Part of the "toasting" ritual is to give the Bride and Groom the cork from the bottle of champagne used in their first drink together as husband and wife. I split the cork, write the date and insert a Cayman Islands coin. The champagne used is "Simply Weddings Bubbly", which is made and labeled for me by Cayman Corker, a wine and beer boutique here in Cayman.

When I know that children are included in the wedding party I provide a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling cider so that they can be included in the toasting.

The Bride and the Best-man

The end of a special wedding day in the Cayman Islands. Thank you for making me part of it.
